Drs Ben and Carli Weatherhead have taken up the opportunity to work as GPs in a small seaside town in Ireland in 2025. They both have family in Europe and look forward to strengthening their family ties and taking their children on an adventure, while broadening their clinical experience. They plan to return to Mansfield in January 2026.

Dr Ben Weatherhead graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2009, after spending the latter part of his medical training in Northeast Victoria.

After completing his intern year in Ballarat, he worked in a number of regional areas including Mansfield, Wangaratta, Albury/Wodonga, and Launceston, Tasmania. He is a fellow of the RACGP and an accredited GP anaesthetist at Mansfield District Hospital.

Ben's interests include preventative medicine, chronic disease management, emergency medicine and skin procedures.

Outside work, Ben enjoys spending time with his family, caring for the various animals on his property, tending to his garden and is a novice skier.
